So sorry to hear of David’s passing. We worked together at North American Life during the early part of our careers and met up again at another company during the latter part of our careers. We supported each other, respected each other and cheered each other on. A true and loyal friend.

Today, on Valentine's Day, at 2:00 p.m. we reunited David with the love of his life, Keith Jones. I carried my brother on one last, brief journey from the Ward funeral vehicle to his final resting spot. My husband Jeff and I said our farewells to David, reminding him how loved he was by his family. We played "The Way We Were" by Barbra Streisand, the other love in his life, as a way of sending him with love and joy to his eternal happiness. Brenda, Bill, and I would like to thank everyone who has poured out such love for and fond memories of David, in so many ways. Your words and gestures have touched each of us so deeply and have helped make this grievous loss a little easier to bear. With heartfelt thanks, Barry Joe, Brenda Joe, Bill Brandt

Nothing loved is ever lost. I will think of you when I walk through the forest and look at the soft green boughs. Good bye, my friend.

We were so sorry to hear of David's passing. Our hearts go out to Barry and Brenda. David did an abstract painting for me many, many years ago. We had a lot of great laughs over the years and I will not forget him.

My condolences to David's family and all those dear to him. I knew David from highschool - TLK days. He was a good student - me not so much. My favorite memory of David was when our class was divided up and each group tasked with creating "something" to commemorate Canada's 100th birthday. It was 1967. I ended up in David's group, either by wish or happenstance I don't recall. . It was autumn and skies were blue, the colours brilliant. All any of us wanted to do was to be outside enjoying the days. David came up with the idea of creating a film. It was brilliant, and we chose our setting to be a park. We created what we thought to be an Oscar quality film. David shot it, directed it, edited it, and added in the audio. We provided the comic relief of happy actors frolicking in the leaves and fall flowers. Our project earned us kudos and an A mark. Really it was David's doing, not ours. But he insisted we all played an equal roll. I think that characterizes what David was to me. Generous of spirit, humble and kind. RIP David. Jo-Anne Johnson
