With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Marie King while surrounded by her family on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at the age of 87. Now reunited with her late husband “Lil” Arthur King (Canadian professional boxer – winner of Canadian lightweight title and British Empire lightweight title). Beloved mother of Kim (Brian), Lynne (Rick) and Wayne. Cherished grandmother to Jacqueline and Devon and dear sister to Nellie Carlson. Marie was a hard working and devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed time spent cooking and entertaining friends but most of all she adored her “weekend getaways” at the cottage on the Nottawasaga river with her soul mate of 55 years Arthur. Although we are saddened by our loss, we take comfort knowing mom and dad are reunited because in life they were always together. Marie’s kindness and great sense of humor will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by family and friends. Private cremation to take place. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
