Obituary for Ruggero Meneghel
Ruggero Meneghel a proud Alpino, lover of nature, an avid hunter, a chef at heart and refined ceramic artist was born in Bassano del Grappa, Veneto, Italy on October 17th, 1933. Passed in peace at the age of 85 on Monday, April 22nd, 2019 in Toronto, Ontario.
Courageously left his family at the age of 22 to immigrate to Canada on his own with the hopes to find a better life. Dreaming to work with his hands in creating ceramics, his determination to find work led him to his field of Welder Fitter. He travelled far distances to find work, even as far as Fort Churchill and Alaska. Helping to raise his three daughters with his wife Marcella, he continuously sought to build a better life for his girls.
Ruggero will be remembered as creative, devoted and a man of integrity who loved his wine!
Preceded in death by his wife, Marcella.
Loving father of Barbara, Claudia and Deborah and Father in Law to Ermanno.
Proud grandfather of Cassandra, Joshua, Sebastian, Liam, Zoe and Aiden.
Visitation will be held at Ward Funeral Home Woodbridge Chapel, 4671 Highway #7 Monday, April 29th , 2019 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m.
Mass will be held at Transfiguration of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church , 45 Ludstone Drive, Etobicoke on Tuesday, April 30th, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. and entombment to follow at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery located on 7300 Highway 27 south of Highway 7.
