It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Battistina D’Elia at 97 years of age on May 10, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her beloved husband Angelino in 1999. Loving mother of Joseph, Domenica, Carmela, Francesca, Grace, Filiomena, and Angelo. Cherished Nonna to her 16 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Born in Lamezia, Italy, daughter of the late Basille and Filiomena Romenello. Dear sister of Grazia, Angelina, Saverina, Bettina, Rosina, Giuseppe and Francesco. Loved by her in-laws and many nieces and nephews. Betty’s strength and warmth will remain in the hearts and minds of her loved ones forever. Friends and family will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, Woodbridge Chapel on Saturday, May 11, 2019 from 6-9 p.m,, and on Sunday, May 12, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 13, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Church (8500 Islington Avenue, Woodbridge) Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Donations in memory of Betty can be made to two foundations that are close to her heart –Parkinson Canada or to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
