With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Lillian Contino at Chartwell Pine Grove LTC on Monday, May 20, 2019 at the age of 87. Predeceased by her husband Antonio Contino and her beloved sisters (Mary, Sarah, Esther and Elizabeth). Loving step-mother to Nancy, Joe (Anna) and Lisa (Dan). Cherished grandmother to Christopher, Robert, Diana (Nick), Xander and Isabella. Great-grandmother to Aliyah and dear aunt to Marina and Laura (Karen). She loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening. Lillian was always available to lend a helping hand at her church and with family, always putting others before herself. Her dedication to others continued even after the passing of our father as she was the glue that kept the family close. Her independence and strong will made her the person she was and she will be dearly missed. Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home (4671 Highway 7, Woodbridge) on Wednesday from 6-9 pm. A celebration of life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday,
May 23, 2019 at 9:30 am. Interment to follow at Beechwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can also be made to the Alzheimer's Society.
