Giovanni (John) Ciampa
On Sunday June 9, 2019 we lost a great man. John was always the life of the party. He was hardworking and loved his family above all else.
Beloved Husband of 47 years to Luciana whom he shared many wonderful memories. He was always there for, and will be greatly missed by his children Christina (Tony Mozzone), Sue (Johnny Torti) and Anthony (Milena). John’s grandchildren Joseph, Melissa, Leanna, Vanessa, Ava, Gianluca, Marco, Giuliana and Alessio were always his pride and joy.
John will be missed by his brothers Pasquale (Concetta), Bruno (Natalia) and brother in law Carlo (Fani) as well as by his mother in law Realina D’Ambrogio.
John has shown us all the value of family, celebration and laughter. He will be forever remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Our deepest condolences to John's entire family and to you Lucy on behalf of Franca and I and our family.
I have had the pleasure of knowing John from a very early stage in life and even worked together while going to school, we attended each other's weddings, and shared many laughs together as John's sense of humour never seized to amaze me as well as many of our shared friends. I will miss you my friend and who knows maybe one day we may reunite.

Words cannot express how truly saddened I am by John's passing. As many of the others have stated, John was a wonderful, kind-hearted man, which was evidenced by his participation in fundraising.

I spent COUNTLESS occasions talking to John when he was in our office. He spoke highly of all my co-workers. I’m pretty sure he had a soft spot for all of us. He always asked about my children and would tell me that I was a good mom and that I raised them well. He would ask about my mom and dad's health.

He always spoke highly of his wife...he never failed to mention how much he loved her. He talked about how they met and how he fell in love with her from the first time he saw her. He talked about getting a job, saving his money, and buying a car, so he could pick her up for dates. He often said she was the BEST cook and loved her food.

He would bring items into the office for us to try (tomato sauce, soppressata , and an Easter bread). At Christmas, he would go out of his way to buy me a separate gift basket, because he knew I didn’t drink. I often felt like John had my back if I ever needed him. He was a gem.

His loud, infectious laugh, his “I LOVE IT”, and “BACON” will be missed, but never forgotten. I will miss his "Hello, Diana", from the entrance as he made his way up the stairs. I will remember his final "Ciao" as he left the office on Friday.

My sincerest condolences go out to his wife, children, and grandchildren. I’m sure the loss you feel is monumental. May God provide you with strength to get through the difficult times ahead.

We are all still in total shock over the passing of our beloved cousin John. How can a man with such vigor and love of life be gone?He was Godfather to my husband Rick, and we loved him more like a brother than a cousin. Everyone was drawn to to him. When you walked in the room, his love of life and boisterous laugh would envelope you like a big welcoming bear hug. He lived his life to the fullest, was the happiest man I've ever met and quite frankly, was the only man who could make me blush at his jokes.
John's aura was like a giant strobe light - so colourful, bright and inviting - it was like a gravitating force; you couldn't help but be drawn to him and to join in the conversation. I think the thing we admired the most about him was how he treated his wife Lucy. She was John's soul mate. They did everything together; a true example of what a marriage should be. Their relationship and bond was so strong and they laughed together all the time. It was infectious, in fact, every memory we have of John always brings a smile or outright laughter...and there are a lot of memories. We'll always remember those famous words "I LOVE IT!" when something made him happy which usually always had to do with family. He was so proud of his children, Christina, Susie and Anthony, their spouses and loved his grandchildren. He was truly a mentor to all of us. He didn't care about money or material things - he just wanted to be with family and friends, while drinking Corona and having some soppresata.
I remember when I was first introduced to this family when dating my husband Rick 25 years ago. On my first introduction, this family took me in like I was one of their own, there was no turning back and I've always been very proud to be a part of the Ciampa family.

John, the Ciampa family and the world will never be the same again. You have touched people in more ways than you'll ever know. That strobe light has dimmed, but your memory and love of life will stay in our hearts forever and we will ensure that your legacy will continue to live on. We love you John,
Rick, Gina, Samantha, Christina, & Julia
