To Larry , Jane, Don and families, Laurie and I were so sorry to hear about your mom, grand-mother and great-grandmother. Over the many years I have fond memories of your mom. She very kindly made some pretty skating costumes for Barbie dolls for a fund-raising craft sale for Cystic Fibrosis. Big ticket items. The funds were directed to The Hospital for Sick Children. . At anniversary gatherings for my mom and dad (Joan and Bill Montgomery) I was always impressed how she was able to walk in her high, high heels with her beautiful outfits. When I was at my parents home on Sundays and we would call her, we would talk about those "heels". One dinner that Laurie and I did for my parents, Mary and Arlane Furgala , I remember telling Jane that her mom ate 2 helpings of salmon, salad and two desserts. I still don't know where she put it. I read something today, a little clipping I had from Sally Armstrong (whoever she may be). It said that "In the hurly-burly of growing families, mothers are the tapestry makers, weaving in and out of our lives through celebration and trouble, the daily grind and the passing milestones. They are the keepers of family stories, the censors of youthful indiscretions. Then, one day, they slip through the invisible curtain of age, and we tend to forget that they giggled as girls, chased their dreams , stood like lionesses for their children and abide as shelters in our lives." I believe that your mom did all of that for all of you. Remember her with happy thoughts. Love Corinne, Laurie, Scott and Kristen Roberts

Joan and I were very sorry to hear about Mary. Please accept our sincere condolences for your wonderful mom, grand-mother and great-grandmother. We were Mary and Clark's original neighbours on Mitre Place. A great place to raise children and participate in the Mitre Place barbecues on their side of the street due to no fences to hinder those long summer night dinners and festivities. Each lady had their special salad and pie. The ladies organized it and when the men arrived home from work they would push the barbecues together and do the outdoor cooking. Great memories for our children. Mary and I shared the same birthday date in April and after we turned 80 we went together to do our written Drivers test and renewal. We always passed. I was sorry when Mary turned 90 and told me that I would have to go alone. In later years we sent cards and have shared some happy conversations on our mutual birthday. Mary always made a point to speak to my wife Joan and Joan always smiled at a familiar, pleasant and patient voice. Thank-you Mary. We will miss you but we know that your family cared and love you so very much. Love Joan and Bill Montgomery
