With heavy hearts we announce the unexpected passing of Peter Silvestro on Friday, June 14, 2019 at the age of 60. Beloved husband to Betty for 30 years of marriage and cherished father of Mario and Alessandra. Loving son of Carmela and the late Mario Silvestro and dear brother to Tina (Gino). Son-in-law to Bruno and Maria Venturin and brother-in-law to Joe, Danny (Marianne) and Sabrina. Missed by his nieces, nephews, family and friends. Peter was a hard working and devoted family man. Happiest when spending time with family, he loved home-made cooking and whether it was making pasta fagioli, popping "the best popcorn" around or a simple cup of coffee, he loved sharing a good meal with those around him. His honest, approachable and good-hearted nature and contagious laugh will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered. Visitation will take place at the Ward Funeral Home (4671 Highway #7, Woodbridge) on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Margaret Mary Church (8500 Islington Avenue, Woodbridge) on Friday at 9:30 am. Entombment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
