Obituary for Dorothy Ann Lama (Watt)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Ann Lama (nee Watt).

Born and raised in Winnipeg, Dorothy became a flight attendant stationed out of Toronto at the age of 22. After marrying the love of her life, John Lama, they settled in Whitby and raised their three children: Brad, Nancy (Craig) and DeeAnn (Bruce). Dorothy adored her children, and considered her family her greatest achievement.

Dorothy touched all that knew her with her zest for life, and will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humour. In her later years she enjoyed needlepoint and crocheting, and generously gave away much of her work in the form of blankets to friends, newborns and animal shelters. She will be greatly missed by her eight grandchildren: Truxton, Addison, Tyson, Owen, James, Olivia, Alexa and Samantha, who all cherished their lively visits with her. We can take comfort knowing that she will be reunited with her beloved father William Watt, her mother Nancy Watt, and her brother Bobby Watt. Dorothy is survived by her husband John of 52 years, and her brother David Watt.

The entire Lama family has been extremely touched by the outpouring of love and support from our family, friends and colleagues during this time of grief. We would like to extend our gratitude and appreciation to the staff of The Brant Centre in Burlington for the special care and support they provided Dorothy in the last years of her life. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Nellie's Women's Shelter in Toronto in memory of Dorothy.
