Obituary for Margaret Delzada Paisley

Mrs. Margaret Delzada Paisley (nee Wallace)
October 26, 1937 to May 18, 2020

The Lord called Margaret home Monday afternoon May 18, 2020 at the age of 82.
Beloved husband of Hopton Paisley of 40 years.
Loving mother of Neville Stoltz (predeceased), Paul Samuels (Maxine), Trevor Whittingham (Evaleen), Junior Leslie, Carol Leslie Willis (Rocky), and Miquel Paisley.
Proud Grandma of Carita and Nadia; Stacey, Hiron, Tadia, and Tracey; Joshua (Gina), Hannah and Charissa; Cherise and Tristan; Schiquilla, Rejean and Raevon; Macquila and Ava. Delighted Great-Grandma of eight little ones.
Predeceased by her brothers and sister William, Kirkland and Eunice. She is survived by sisters and brother Marjorie, Cynthia, and Milton.

Margaret was born to Joseph and Hilda Wallace in Mandeville, in the parish of Manchester, Jamaica. She moved to Kingston, Jamaica as a young woman, working as a talented dressmaker.
Seeking a better future for her children, she moved to Toronto, Canada in 1972, and was able to bring her children later. A diligent employee she worked in various positions, retiring after 30 years from Polytainers Inc.
She was committed to her church and loved to sing, serve, and pray. She was a strong, fearless, determined lady and strived to make life better for herself and her family. In her 50s, she earned her driver’s license and bought her own car with cash so she could go wherever she wanted, which was to church. She loved cooking for her family and friends, celebrating times together.

We offer heartfelt thanks to the Downsview Long Term Care staff who treated her with such gentleness and affection for the past two years. And we so appreciate the medical and volunteer staff who came to help during the Covid-19 outbreak. They were kind and sensitive to her and to her family.
One of her favourite songs was Amazing Grace, she carried the words that she hand wrote in her wallet.

We thank our family, friends and Miracle Temple Ministries for their support and compassion.
We are sorry that at this time we will not be able to meet together. A memorial service will be held in the future.
